Jagua Application and After Care Tips

Jagua is a natural dye extracted from the unripe fruit of the Genipa Americana tree. It is commonly used for creating temporary tattoos that resemble real ink tattoos. To ensure the best results and maintain the longevity of your jagua tattoo, follow these application and aftercare tips:

1. Prepare your skin

Cleanse the area where you want to apply the jagua tattoo with mild soap and water. Make sure the skin is free from any oils, lotions, or dirt that could interfere with the adhesion of the jagua gel.

2. Apply the jagua gel

Using the jagua cone, carefully apply the jagua gel onto your skin. Start with a thin layer and gradually build up the design. Take your time and be precise to achieve the desired result.

3. Let it dry

Once design is completed:

1. Gel will take 30–40 minutes to dry. It will dry flat and stick to skin. (Be very careful not to smudge design while wet!)
2. Wait 2 hours.
3. Peel off jagua gel from skin with fingers.
4. YOU WILL SEE VERY LITTLE COLOR WHEN YOU REMOVE THE GEL. THIS IS NORMAL! Blue/black color will fully develop in 24–48 hours.

Jagua gel stains extremely quickly so be careful to avoid smudges. Additionally, jagua can transfer easily to different parts of the body. Therefore, PLEASE DO NOT SLEEP WITH JAGUA GEL ON! Make sure to thoroughly wash the gel off before sleeping.

4. Remove the gel

Once the jagua gel is fully dry, gently peel off the gel layer. You will notice a light stain on your skin. Do not be alarmed, as the color will continue to develop over the next 24-48 hours.

5. Aftercare

To prolong the life of your jagua tattoo, follow these aftercare tips:

• Avoid excessive contact with water for the first 24 hours after application.
• Avoid scrubbing or rubbing the tattooed area.
